You can create Dial Lists that contain Dial Entries pending calls based on various object types including tasks.
When you create a Dial List that contains tasks, you must take into account the following information:
- The standard Salesforce field on the task object, Task.Phone, is a special field. The field displays the phone number from the Salesforce record related to a task record. Connect cannot use this field when creating a Dial Entry based on the task record and requires a custom phone field instead. By default, Connect uses the custom phone field NVMContactWorld__Customer_Number__c as a Primary Phone Field picklist value. This field is available in ContactWorld in Salesforce. If you want to use a different custom phone field you, or your Salesforce administrator, must create and configure the custom field. For information about configuring an alternative phone field, see Adding a phone field to picklists for new Dial Lists.
- You must add the Log a Call action to the task page layout or layouts that your users use. For information about the Log a Call action, see Adding the Log a Call action to a page layout in Salesforce Classic. You must then enable feed tracking for task objects. Feed tracking is enabled by default for most standard Salesforce objects, but not tasks. For information about enabling feed tracking, see Salesforce help.
- Connect performs differently when an agent uses Connect to make a call to a Dial Entry that corresponds to a task record. For more information, see Pending, active, completed and skipped calls.
