Quick voice messages in ContactPad
If enabled for your account, you can record quick voice messages to be played at the beginning, during, and at the end of the call. This way, you can ensure that the specific information provided to customers is consistent and complies with any potential requirements, such as GDPR.
VCC provides two types of quick voice messages:
- Voicemail drop messages played when an outbound call is answered by voicemail, an answering machine, or a contact. The call then ends automatically.
- Mid-call messages played to share information, such as terms and conditions, while staying connected to the inbound/outbound caller.
- VCC does not support transcription for quick voice messages.
- The quick voice messages feature is unavailable for bots.
Recording and uploading messages
You can access the message recording:
- By going directly to the Personal settings tab.
- From the Contact Pad, by selecting Settings → Quick voice messages.
The application takes you to the Personal settings tab.
Once there, perform the following steps:
- Press Record a message/upload a message.
- Enter the name of the message.
- Choose message type:
- announcement (the call continues after the message).
- voicemail (the call ends after the message).
Depending on your selection in Step 1 (recording/uploading a message):
- The maximum length of the recorded/uploaded message is 60 seconds.
- Uploaded files must be in the .wav format and no larger than 10 MB.
- The messages must be recorded using a sample rate of 8 kHz.
- The maximum number of recorded/uploaded messages is 50.
Press Start to record your message;
ORUpload the message from your computer.
You can immediately delete the recorded/uploaded message using the Trash icon that appears once sound has been recorded/a message has been uploaded.
After deleting your message, you can record it or upload another one.
Set the message as default if needed.
- You must have one default message, either a voicemail drop message or a mid-call message.
- To delete your default message, assign another one as default first.
- Save your message.
Your messages are displayed in a list, where you can edit, delete, or download them to your PC.
Playing messages mid-calls
To play a message in the middle of your inbound/outbound call, open the drop-down next to the voicemail button in your ContactPad.
Then select the message you wish to play from the list. Once the message ends, you can continue the call.
You can also click Voicemail button to play your default mid-call message if you have configured it.
Playing voicemail drop messages
We currently support voicemail drop messages for outbound calls only.
To play a voicemail message that will end your call, open the drop-down next to the voicemail button in your ContactPad.
Then select the voicemail drop message you wish to play from the list. Leaving a voicemail drop message ends the call for you.
The call is ended for your contact once the voicemail drop message finishes playing.
You can also click Voicemail button to play your default voicemail drop message if you have configured it.
