Configuring two-factor authentication method and trusted devices
Two-factor authentication (2FA) helps keep your account and data safe. If 2FA is switched on for your account, you may be asked to provide a code when you log in. This code verifies your account.
When you first log in to Vonage Contact Center (VCC) after 2FA is switched on for your account, you can choose where you want to receive verification codes when you log in — the 2FA method. VCC can send codes in a message to either the email address associated with your account, or to a phone number via SMS or WhatsApp. If you want to change the method you initially chose, you can do so later in the Two-Factor Authentication area of the VCC admin portal. You can also choose to forget your trusted devices — these are devices you can currently log in to without further verification.
For information about configuring two-factor authentication method and trusted devices, perform the following steps:
- Log in to the VCC Admin Portal. For information about logging in to the VCC admin portal, see Logging in to the Vonage Contact Center Admin Portal.
- If you are the supervisor or admin of multiple accounts, select the account that you want to configure two-factor authentication in, and click Select.
- From the Vonage Contact Center homepage, go to User Profile (within Administration). User Profile appears.
- In Configure two-factor authentication (2FA) method, choose either Email, SMS, or WhatsApp. If this section isn't editable, 2FA is not enabled for your account.
- If you choose Email, the email address associated with your account appears. You cannot change this value.
- If you choose SMS or WhatsApp, provide the phone number of the device you want to receive verification codes. If you have previously provided a phone number for the specific method, this number will appear. Click the pencil icon to edit the number if required.
- In Trusted devices, the devices you have chosen to trust when you previously logged in appear. Optionally, click Forget all trusted devices to remove these devices. You should do this if you ever suspect that a device has been compromised.
The settings will apply the next time you log in.
