Two-factor authentication helps keep user's accounts and data safe. If switched on for a user, two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring the user to provide two different forms of identification before accessing their account. Currently, if If enabled for your account, two-factor authentication using email SMS is available in addition to two-factor authentication using email.

If enabled, admin users can switch two-factor authentication on for individual or multiple users in User Admin, or in bulk. For information, see Configuring individual usersConfiguring multiple users (using bulk actions). Alternatively, they can enforce two-factor authentication for all users with a particular license. For information, see Configuring two-factor authentication — early access.

If switched on , the user for a user, the first time they log in, they will be prompted to select where they want a verification code sent when they log in subsequently — to either an email address or, if enabled, a phone number. After that, they will get an email or SMS with a one-time code the next time they log inafter a certain period as configured, any time they use a different device, browser, or network, or if they enter the wrong password two times in a row.
