Updated login for embedded agent experiences

Vonage is introducing a new login process for ContactPad, Vonage for Service Cloud Voice, and the admin portal embedded within another application (using an iFrame) — such as Salesforce. This update aligns with changes in web privacy, including the phasing out of third-party cookies by browsers like Google Chrome. This change affects how Vonage embeds ContactPad, Vonage for Service Cloud Voice, and the admin portal within other applications, such as Salesforce – read more about How Google's Privacy Sandbox Initiative Impacts Salesforce.

Key changes

Single login button

Users will see a streamlined login interface with a single button and any single sign-on options enabled.

Pop-out authentication

A separate authentication window will appear when the user clicks login or logout.

Pop-up permissions

Users must enable pop-ups for Vonage on their first logout, allowing Vonage to end all sessions.

Who will be affected?

Any users who log in to ContactPad, Vonage for Service Cloud Voice, or the admin portal embedded within another application will be affected. The following list includes VCC configurations that we know to be affected; the list is not exhaustive and custom implementations are possible:

This change impacts both direct username and password logins as well as single sign-on integrations.

How to prepare

Inform your users (required)

You should share this guide on How the login experience is changing with all your affected users.

Adopt the new flow early (optional)

For custom integrations, not listed in Who will be affected? earlier in this page, this step is strongly recommended to avoid any chance of service disruption.

We recommend that you roll out this change before May 28, 2024, after which it will be enabled automatically. Adopting the new flow early allows you to control when the change goes live and enables you to test it in a sandbox environment before affecting all users.

Follow this guide on How to adopt the new login flow early.

If you do not adopt the flow early, the change will be enabled automatically on May 28, 2024.
